Functional Mobilization
Functional Mobilization quickly mobilize joints and reactivate the surrounding muscles
Functional Mobilization is a manual treatment technique developed by Gregg Johnson at the Institute of Physical Art, which uses the principles of localized myofascial release and PNF to quickly mobilize joints and reactivate the surrounding muscles. Therapists observe patient movements and identify restrictions causing pain or inefficiency. The therapist then feels for the correct and specific depth, angle and direction of the limitation through a process called localization. The therapist holds a constant pressure while helping the patient to contract the necessary muscle groups. The result is an observable freeing of the restriction and smooth pain-free movement.
